Napkin Holder Plan
Introduction

Introduction

This napkin holder plan is a simple yet elegant design that you can build in one weekend. It has relatively few parts and is made from all hardwood construction. We chose to use maple for the base and sides and walnut for the rod because we liked the contrast between the light and dark woods. The design is somewhat flexible. You can visit our Napkin Holder Gallery Page to see examples of different styles we've built.

One of the really neat features of this napkin holder is that you can take out one napkin at a time without the entire stack coming out. With many napkin holders if you try to grab one napkin you end up with all of them.

These plans for the napkin holder are divided into five sections; The Introduction, Turning the Rod, Cutting the Parts, Assembly, and a Gallery of napkin holder designs. All sections are accessible from the bottom of each page or by clicking on the saw blade "location indicator" at the top of each page.

We recommend that you start by:
1)  Printing the templates below
2)  Reviewing and printing all four pages

Templates
For your convenience we have provided these templates in two formats.
1) .JPG
- These three images can be printed from your browser by clicking on the images below.
2) Adobe Acrobat Reader (.PDF)
- Adobe Acrobat files tend to have a little more consistency in print size from computer to computer. The templates are available in one complete file or in three sections below. These images require Adobe Acrobat Reader to print. Acrobat Reader is available free from Adobe by clicking here.

Caution: Print size can vary from computer to computer and printer to printer. We have found that the Acrobat version of the templates seems to print closer to actual size than the .JPG version. Please measure the templates and make your own if necessary before attempting to build this napkin holder.
